
Testing:
After achieving the required educational credits with-in the one-year period of time, candidates must pass a multiple-choice written exam administered in a single two-hour time frame. Candidates must register to take the test no later than 2 weeks prior to the testing date. The test will consist of at least 100 questions that will be randomly selected from a pool of questions covering information found in the CHBME Study Guide. Any notes as well as any electronic device(s) such as cell phones, iPads, etc. will not be allowed in the testing room.
Test scoring will be completed by the HBMA National Office staff. Within four weeks of sitting for the examination, candidates will be notified in writing of their results. For security reasons, results will not be given over the phone or sent by fax or email. The CHBME final exam will be administered at regularly scheduled HBMA National Conferences throughout the U.S.
Retesting:
A candidate may sit for the final examination only once during each calendar year. Repeat candidates shall submit a reexamination testing fee, identical to the initial testing fee, and shall submit proof of ongoing fulfillment of the eligibility requirements in effect at the time of the test administration.
