SOUND OFF!

Topic:In our Reader Survey, we heard from many of you that you wanted to learn more about benchmarking. So we want to know: What are you doing for benchmarks?

I would like to see industry standards for medical billing companies for days in AR; work in progress (WIP) based on date of receipt; staffing based on either number of providers, number of patients or number of visits (or all of the above); gross collections by specialty; net collections by specialty (and which format used to arrive at net collections), etc. Other numbers would be the ratio of staff to managers or leads; average work space per employee; average salary for positions, etc. Revenue per provider, revenue per FTE and cost per FTE are also good numbers to know.

There are never enough benchmarks. you and/or your patients?
