Recognizing how to apply integrity in challenging situations and what the law requires is a valuable tool for healthcare employees. Working towards maintaining integrity in our actions--regardless of the frustrations that occur when our own personal beliefs or morals are being questioned. It is essential to work with the utmost integrity in the healthcare field. There are constant challenges to maintaining integrity and not looking the other way when something should be addressed. It takes bravery to speak up. This session will cover what it is to have integrity while working in the healthcare industry. We will also discuss how to educate staff in integrity and accuracy with patient care, billing, coding, and with co-workers and patients, we will prepare how to address and report breaches, and how these are learning opportunities for your practice. Finally, we will educate you to be a leader in regard to Whistleblowers and Compliance Hotlines.

Speaker Bio:
Jacob (Jake) Yates is the Account Manager at Healthcare Compliance Pros (HCP).  He specializes in Risk Management, RAPS and EDS claims submissions, Medicare, and general healthcare compliance.  Prior to joining HCP, Jake worked as a National Account Manager and Client Services Executive at two healthcare SaaS companies.  During his time he worked with many clients, including three of the top 10 largest U.S. Health Insurance Plans on their Medicare Advantage, HEDIS, and RADV audits along with claim submissions and corrections to the CMS.

Jake has a Bachelor's Degree of Social Work from the University of Utah and a Master of Business Administration and Healthcare Management degree from Western Governor’s University.  In addition, he is an active member of the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), a Certified Healthcare Compliance Professional, and has certifications in Project Management and Lean Six Sigma.
