HEALTHCARE BILLING & MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH EVEREST COLLEGE
career opportunities for graduates and
employees for medical billing companies
ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA – July 10, 2013 – Healthcare Billing & Management Association (HBMA) (HBMA.org) , the most influential healthcare revenue cycle and management services association, leads the industry by announcing new alliance with Everest College.
Under the agreement, HBMA will facilitate externship and placement opportunities for Everest’s medical and insurance billing and coding (MIBC) students. “Our desire in this partnership was to expedite the hiring process and provide quality recruits for our members while at the same time providing career opportunities for future graduates,” said Sherri Dumford, Director of Operations for HBMA. “We selected Everest College (http://www.everest.edu) because they are part of Corinthian Colleges, one of the largest post-secondary education companies in North America, and they offer excellent MIBC programs.”
The Everest Partnership will be an added benefit to HBMA’s EmployerPages System. “This is a win-win for everyone involved. Given the current economy, we are proud to be part of offering college graduates in the healthcare field opportunities for future employment,” continued Dumford.
“The partnership with HBMA will open new doors for our students and graduates,” stated Anthony Mann, director of national employer development for Everest College. Everest College is a provider of career-oriented diploma and degree programs at more than 100 campuses across the nation. Its mission is to prepare students for careers in demand or for advancement in their chosen field.
HBMA will be providing a website presence to its members to view student credentials as well as for Everest students to view externships and placement opportunities.
HBMA members provide a variety of business support services for the nation’s physician practices. The Healthcare Billing & Management Association is a key stakeholder in a $38 billion physician RCM industry, and represents more than 30,000 employees at well over 700 third-party medical billing firms.
Healthcare Billing & Management Association (HBMA.org) members process over 30% of all physicians’ insurance claims. Annually, HBMA companies submit more than 350 million initial claims on behalf of hospital-based physicians, office-based physicians and other allied healthcare providers. A non-profit, member-led trade association, HBMA is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year.
