HBMA to Host Compliance Conference in Baltimore, April 29 – May 1

The Healthcare and Billing Management Association invites third and first party billing and revenue cycle companies to attend the HBMA 2014 Compliance Conference, to be held at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court in Baltimore, MD, April 29 – May 1.
This year’s annual Compliance Conference offers two-and-a-half days of focused instruction presented by an expert faculty of compliance and billing industry professionals. Featuring new and revised sessions, this once-a-year program provides a practical approach to developing, implementing and assessing compliance plans within the context of effective business practices.
“Compliance often feels overwhelming, but billing professionals can take advantage of unique strategies, state of the art lectures, and best practices at the Compliance Conference," said Holly Louie, RN, CHBME, conference faculty member, “Current and time sensitive topics for the industry will be discussed, keeping attendees up-to-date with the latest in healthcare billing.”
The Compliance Conference offers a variety of social opportunities that will allow members to maximize their networking and learning through shared interaction with fellow colleagues. In addition to a number of education and networking sessions, guest speaker Paul W. Kim, JD, MPH, a principal in the Health Law Group at Ober, Kaler, Grimes & Shriver, will deliver an updated presentation on HIPAA / HITECH and Beyond. Attendees will also hear a new presentation on CMS’ Approach to Combating Fraud, Waste, and Abuse from guest speaker, Ted Doolittle, deputy policy director for the CMS Center for Program Integrity.
Attendees can expect to leave with tips, techniques, strategies and resources to integrate compliance into their businesses and add value to their services.
Conference participants may also earn up to 18 credits toward the designation of CHBME (Certified Healthcare Billing & Management Executive).
