HBMA is excited to announce the final webinar in our three-part series on the federal No Surprises Act (NSA). Part 1 covered the NSA’s good faith estimate (GFE) requirement in the first webinar and Part 2 covered the out-of-network protections. Both of these requirements include an arbitration process that is important to understand. The GFE requirement creates an arbitration process that patients can use to challenge bills that exceed their GFE by at least $400. The out-of-network protections include an arbitration process to resolve reimbursement disputes between a patient’s health plan and the out-of-network provider.
This webinar will provide an overview of the NSA’s arbitration processes as well as a summary of HBMA’s advocacy on the operational issues with these regulations. The presentation will be followed by a moderated discussion with members of the HBMA Government Relations Committee about how HBMA members can help their clients understand these processes.
