Challenges in Healthcare Payments & Strategies to Overcome Them

October 17th, 2017

Healthcare providers face an increasing number of payment and revenue management challenges, including the “consumerism” of healthcare. Consumers now expect a retail-like experience wherever they go. They want instant access to services, clear information about costs and maximum convenience in paying.

In addition, patients are assuming greater financial responsibility for their care. On average, consumers are now responsible for 30% to 35% of their healthcare bill, which puts a growing percent of provider revenue at risk if patients don’t pay.

To continue to thrive, healthcare providers need to understand the challenges of a consumer-driven environment and have strategies in place to address these challenges.

In this session, attendees will:

1. Learn strategies for meeting diverse consumer payment expectations;
2. Receive tips for educating patients about the amounts they owe and obtaining a commitment to pay;
3. Identify how to protect payments using a multi-layered security approach.
