Keynote Speaker: Steve Bedwell, M.D.

Steve Bedwell is a medical doctor with research training, an obsessive streak and a knack for applying science to everyday problems. He’s traveled the world teaching and conducting research, and even found himself deep in the African jungle removing an appendix under the illumination from a car headlight!

Michele Howard, District Manager, Performance Resources  

Michele Howard has been with Performance Resources, helping businesses improve their recruiting and onboarding processes for 21 years. During her time with the company, she has focused on helping her clients become more efficient and profitable. She has been a speaker for HBMA in the past and conducts seminars and trainings for Associations and Chambers nationwide, including SHRM. Her most recent focus has been on hospitality, banking and healthcare industries. 


Thomas LaGreca, Esq., Executive Director of Medical Revenue Recovery, Callagy Law

Thomas LaGreca is an attorney with Callagy Law and is the Executive Director of Medical Revenue Recovery, overseeing recovery efforts for the medical industry across the country. After law school at St. John’s University School of Law where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the St. John’s Law Review, Mr. LaGreca worked for the Wall Street law firm of Dewey, Ballantine, as a litigator and worked in-house for NYNEX Corp. as a regulatory attorney. Immediately prior to joining Callagy Law, he owned and operated a multi-million-dollar commercial contracting business in New York City. He has been with Callagy law for nearly 10 years. Mr. LaGreca is admitted to practice in the State of New York.

Sarah Reiter, SVP of Strategic Partnerships, Health eFilings

Sarah Reiter is the Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships with Health eFilings. In this role, she focuses on developing and managing relationships and strategic initiatives with Health eFilings' partners and their partner's customers. Sarah has developed experience working with billing and RCM companies throughout the country, and has a deep understanding of the unique relationship between healthcare practice and trusted billing partner.   

Sarah has over 20 years professional experience in marketing strategy and business development initiatives in various industry sectors, including previous start-up environments.  She has a BA from Duke University and lives in Madison, Wisconsin with her husband and three children, all of whom keep her on her toes.


Sharon Newport, CAE, Principal, Sharon Newport, LLC


Sharon Newport, CAE is an organizational consultant and executive coach supporting her clients' goals of transformational change, capacity building, and aligning culture with business strategies. Sharon is also adjunct faculty at Georgetown University's Institute of Transformational Leadership, teaching Principles of Transformation and Leadership’s Untapped Resource: Body Intelligence.

Sharon previously served as an association executive for over 12 years and as a documentary television/film producer and actor for over a decade. Sharon has earned an Executive Certificate from Georgetown University in Organizational Consulting and Change Leadership, and her B.F.A. from S.U.N.Y., Purchase College graduating Magna Cum Laude. Sharon was named a Leader of Distinction by digitalNow and has earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation. As a volunteer, Sharon serves on the Global Policy Think Tank for the Institute for Association Leadership and is a Board member for Safe and Sound Schools.

Landon Tooke, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, Impact Healthcare Solutions

Landon Tooke is a dynamic healthcare executive with experience including clinical and administrative duties in a hospital setting, sales, compliance, cybersecurity, medical practice management, and hospital administration. He excels at working with hospitals and medical practices in financial turnarounds with specific emphasis on personnel development, business culture, compliance, and the revenue cycle, and regularly speaks on the subjects at regional and national conferences and association meetings. Landon served as CEO of Reeves Memorial Medical Center and as Interim CEO of LTP Medical Mobile, Inc. Before joining the Impact team, he worked as a sales executive for Clinical Pathology Laboratories and as a clinician in Cardiovascular Services for a large acute care hospital.Landon earned a Master of Legal Studies degree in Health Law from the College of Law at the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana Tech University. 


Jenny P. Studdard, BA, CCS-P, CPC, CPCO, RCC, Compliance Director, Revenue Cycle Coding

Jenny P. Studdard is the Director of Compliance for Revenue Cycle Coding Strategies (RCCS). She is  responsible for assisting her clients with audits, operational assessments, onsite training, and other consulting support services. Prior to joining RCCS, Jenny served as the Chief Compliance Offcer for one of the largest multi-state imaging center organizations. While there she played a key role in the development and implementation of the Sarbanes-Oxley and Regulatory Compliance programs. She was also responsible for transitioning the compliance program into one applicable to a private corporation while maintaining the necessary components to satisfy their Corporate Integrity Agreement.
In addition to her B.A. from the University of Alabama, and Master’s in Heatlhcare Law from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Jenny also holds the professional certifcations of a Radiology Certifed Coder (RCC), a Certifed Professional Coder (CPC), Certifed Professional Compliance Offcer (CPCO), Certifed Coding Specialist (CCS-P), and is an AHIMA approved ICD-10-CM trainer. 


Paul Kim, JD, MPH, Sung Hwang & Kim

  Paul W. Kim, JD, MPH, assists clients in the health care industry on all aspects of health law, except FDA compliance and medical malpractice defense. From CMS, OIG, and OCR regulatory compliance to government investigations, Paul helps providers, medical device manufacturers, and clinical researchers with legal and operational issues including Medicare Coverage, Coding, and Reimbursement, Audits and Appeals, Enrollment Suspensions and Revocations, Whistleblower Actions, and HIPAA and Cyberattacks. Paul also serves as the firm's Chief Privacy Officer. Paul earned his BA degree from Johns Hopkins University, his MPH from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, and his JD from the University of Maryland School of Law.  


Christina Krueckeberg, RN, CPHRM, CHC

Christina has over 27 years experience in small, independent hospitals as well as large multifaceted healthcare systems with proven healthcare risk management and compliance leadership experience. She is passionate about strategic development of enterprise-wide patient safety, risk management and compliance programs to prevent patient harm, control loss and avoid scrutiny. Christina also possesses honed expertise in utilizing sustainable process improvement methodologies across disciplines along with effective communication and data sharing to build and maintain a learning culture for optimal results. 


Linda Perryclear, Provider Product Line Director, Availity

Linda Perryclear is a product line manager for Availity’s provider business, where she is responsible for planning and executing the Availity RCM roadmap. Prior to this role, she served as director of provider services operations, and before that she was director of RCM client experience. Linda began her career at Availity (then RealMed) in 2004 as a client account manager.      Before joining Availity, Linda managed back-office operations for several provider offices, where she was responsible for coding, A/R collections, authorizations, referrals, payment posting, and registration processes. She also managed a practice management conversion. Linda gained clinical experience as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy. Linda received her Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in finance from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.     


Robert Bowman, Director, CAQH CORE

Bob Bowman is the Director of CAQH CORE, a non-profit alliance of healthcare industry leaders whose mission is the creation and adoption of healthcare operating rules that support standards, accelerate interoperability, and align administrative and clinical activities among providers, payers and consumers. Bob oversees the CORE Rule development process; directs the CORE Certification program, which was designed to demonstrate adoption of the CORE rules; serves as a CORE liaison to the standard development organizations (SDOs); is a member of the Board of Directors of WEDI – Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange; and supports CORE’s industry education and outreach.  Prior to joining CAQH CORE, Bob served as the EDI manager for Humana, Inc.  He also worked as an implementation manager – implementing EDI, Web, and HIPAA projects for state, federal, and commercial clients across the country.


Erin Weber, Director, CAQH CORE

Erin Weber is the Director of CAQH CORE, a non-profit alliance of healthcare industry leaders whose mission is the creation and adoption of healthcare operating rules that support standards, accelerate interoperability, and align administrative and clinical activities among providers, payers and consumers. Erin has been with CAQH CORE for more than ten years. In this role, she leads the CAQH CORE operating rule development process, education and outreach, and participant relations. Prior to joining CAQH, Erin served as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) where she managed engagements for government clients and as the lead revenue cycle researcher at the Advisory Board Company.


Ed Kenney, Certified Payment Professional (CCP), Director of Revenue Cycle Management, Relatient

Ed Kenney is a healthcare technology veteran specializing in revenue cycle management and patient billing strategies for today's billing companies and medical practices. Prior to taking over as RCM Director for Relatient, Ed held key leadership roles with organizations like Allscripts and Clearwave. An RCM leader and respected consultant to billing companies and finance professionals, Ed specializes in strategies that help speed the revenue cycle, are intuitive to patients, and sustainable for medical practices and healthcare organizations of all sizes. A member of HBMA, HFMA, and HIMSS, Ed's 20+ years of healthcare, finance, and technology experience have helped him keep a current pulse on both changing technology trends and patient expectations and behaviors.  

Bill Finerfrock, HBMA Government Relations Director

Bill Finerfrock is the President of Capitol Associates (CAI) and serves as the Government Relations Director for HBMA. Prior to becoming President of CAI, in January, 2014, Bill was a Senior Vice President in the firm for more than 20 years. Bill specializes in health care financing, health systems reform, health workforce and rural health. 

Finerfrock has worked in and with the U.S. Congress and Federal agencies on health policy matters for nearly 40 years. In addition to numerous successes in the legislative arena, he has successfully worked on public policy and regulatory issues before the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Defense, and the Justice Department.  In his spare time, Finerfrock serves as the Vice-Chair of the Fairfax County Healthcare Advisory Board. Finerfrock is a 1977 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Political Science.


Matt Reiter, HBMA Government Relations Associate Director

Matt Reiter is Vice Present of Capitol Associates (CAI) and serves as the Government Relations Associate Director for HBMA. Matt represents the firm's clients on legislative and regulatory health policy issues including provider reimbursement, value-based payment systems, administrative simplification, and efforts to reform the U.S. healthcare system. Since joining CAI in 2014, Matt has worked with corporate and non-profit organizations for healthcare providers, healthcare facilities, patient advocacy groups and health plans.
Matt believes that the best healthcare policies recognize that the patient's perspective is the most important. Healthcare policy, which is largely made through reimbursement systems, must align with what patients value to be most effective. Matt works with clients to build effective government relations strategies based on this principle.   Matt is a Graduate of American University, where he earned B.A. degrees in Law and Society as well as Philosophy. 


Kunal Jain, Chief Executive Officer, PracticeForces

Kunal Jain is the CEO and founder of PracticeForces, a medical billing company based in Tampa Bay, Florida. Established in 2003, PracticeForces currently works with over 500 care providers across the country with an annual estimated collection of 200 million dollars for different medical specialty practices. Kunal is also passionate about healthcare entrepreneurship and utilizing offshore resources to help physician practices significantly improve the patient experience. He has an MS degree in entrepreneurship from the University of South Florida and serves on the HBMA Board of Directors.

David J. Zetter, PHR, SHRM-CP, CHC, CPCO, CPC, COC, PCS, FCS, CHBC, CMUP, PESC, CMAP, CMAPA, CMMP, CMHP, President, Zetter Healthcare

David Zetter is founder and lead consultant with Zetter Healthcare in Mechanicsburg, PA and has over 30 years of operational and healthcare experience. He is well versed in regulatory requirements, revenue cycle management, credentialing, contracting, compliance, and coding and documentation. He is considered an expert on Medicare by his clients and his consultant colleagues across the country. Mr. Zetter works with clients, coast to coast, in all areas of practice management, including start-ups, buy-ins, compensation, exit strategies, reimbursement enhancement, practice financial modeling, governance documentation, policy and procuedure development and implementation, credentialing and contracting, HR staffing and management, compliance, coding and chart reviews, physician education, and other ares to maiximze both protibatility and reimbursement of facility and ambulatory practices, re-engineer operations and human resources, and address coding and billing issues for providers to curtail fraud, abuse, kickback, OIG, and IRS issues. 


Matt Seefeld, Executive Vice President, MedEvolve

Matt Seefeld brings 20+ years of management consulting experience in the healthcare industry. He has extensive expertise in the assessment, design and implementation of process improvement programs and technology development across the entire revenue cycle. Matt began his career with Stockamp & Associates, Inc. and worked for both PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and Deloitte Consulting LLP in their healthcare and life sciences practice lines. In 2007, he developed a business intelligence solution and founded Interpoint Partners, LLC, where he served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. In 2011, he sold his business to Streamline Health Solutions where he then served as Chief Strategist of Revenue Cycle followed by Senior Vice President of Solutions Strategy until 2014. 


Kevin Don, Head of Global Business Services, Falck USA

Kevin Don is a healthcare executive with more than 10 years of healthcare management experience. Before joining Falck, Don held roles at ECG Management Consultants, Huron Consulting Group and Hoag Hospital. As a consultant, he has assisted clients in a variety of settings implement operational improvements through best practice process re-design and change management.
