HBMA Announces Election of New Board Members

(WASHINGTON) — Today the Healthcare Business Management Association (HBMA) announced the election of three new board members: Ramesh Gogineni, CHBME of Med-Strategies, Inc.; Jennifer Hicks, MBA of Sceptre Management Solutions, Inc.; and Alicia Vasquez of California Medical Business Services. HBMA certified the results of its board election at its annual conference in Las Vegas, the HBMA 2019: Healthcare Revenue Cycle Conference on September 12. Gogineni, Hicks and Vasquez will join nine other members of the board when their terms begin on January 1, 2020. HBMA represents helthcare revenue cycle management companies (RCM, a.k.a., medical billing and medical practice management service providers) operating throughout the United States.

"As we have seen HBMA grow stronger these past years, I am confident these new leaders joining our experienced board members will continue the association on a positive and progressive path for the future," said Mick Polo, president of HBMA.

Ramesh Gogineni is the founder and CEO of Med-Strategies, Inc., an RCM company with locations in Ashburn, Va. and Henderson, Nev. and has held that position for the last 14 years. Med-Strategies, Inc. joined HBMA in 2013, and Gogineni has served on HBMA's Commercial Payer Relations Committee since 2016. Gogineni previously served as president of the Association of Independent Medical Software Value Added Resellers (AIMSVAR). Med-Strategies, Inc. provides billing services to more than 30 physician organizations.

Jennifer Hicks, MBA is president and owner of Sceptre Management Solutions, Inc. based in Kaysville, Utah. Sceptre Management Solutions, Inc. joined HBMA in 2006. Hicks grew up in a family working in the medical billing industry and held a range of positions with Sceptre Management Solutions, Inc., including Human Resources Director and Vice President. Hicks served as Treasurer of Salt Lake Society for Human Resource Management from 2013-2015. Sceptre Management Solutions, Inc. serves dialysis, nephrology, wound care and podiatry providers nationwide. 

Alicia Vasquez is CEO of California Medical Business Services (CMBS) based in Arcadia, Calif. CMBS has been a member of HBMA since 2008. Vasquez has been active in the revenue cycle management industry for decades, including serving as president of a sister organization to HBMA, the Radiology Business Management Association from 2010-2011. CMBS is a full-service management service organization with more than 300 employees. CMBS provides revenue cycle, practice and imaging center management for hospital and physician-owned practices in radiology, cardiology and other subspecialties throughout California and Iowa.
