Starting this year, health plans are required to provide electronic funds transfer direct to bank, enhanced electronic remittance advices, real time eligibility inquiries and responses, and real time claim status inquiries and responses to all providers and their representatives. Billing services can and should take advantage of these electronic transactions for increased efficiencies. They should also demand that health plans provide these services as required by HIPAA. This webinar will present details on what these transactions are, how billing services can implement them, and what to do if your health plan refuses to meet their responsibilities.
