Keynote Speakers and Additional Sessions Announced for September’s Annual Conference

Each year, HBMA designs its conferences and educational lineup to ensure the experience is as compelling as possible, allowing attendees to walk away with actionable knowledge that they can immediately apply within their organizations to improve medical billing and management processes. The keynote addresses and pre- and post-conference sessions at this year’s 2011 Annual Fall Conference in Las Vegas will focus on the strategies for billing companies to overcome healthcare billing challenges and thrive in a time of unprecedented industry change.

The opening keynote address, “Why It’s the Best Time to Be in the Medical Billing Industry” by Dave Jakielo, CHBME is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. and will focus on the “winning recipe” for improving your company’s productivity, enhancing employee and client satisfaction, and growing profitability. The closing keynote address, “How Do I Get Everything I Have to Do…Done!” by Eddie Williams, will teach attendees how to streamline all of the business organizational “tools” available to do their job faster, more effectively and under budget. This session will be held Friday, September 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The two concurrent pre-conference sessions will kick-off the conference on Wednesday, September 14 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. In the first of these, Holly Louie, RN, CHBME, PSC and Karen Collier, Esquire will present a “Hot Topics in Compliance” session directed to experienced compliance professionals, which will explore real-life compliance scenarios from billing companies across the nation. The second pre-conference session, titled “Technology Strategies for Medical Billing Enterprises,” will be presented by Randolph Johnston and will instruct attendees on the variety of complex decisions to be made in a medical billing enterprise.
