HBMA’s Medical Billing Community Represented at CMS Open Door ForumMonday, April 25th 2011 5:32 pm
We wanted to share the exciting news that our very own Jud Neal, chair of HBMA’s certification committee and president and CEO, Physician’s Business Network was a featured presenter for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Special Open Door Forum on Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) and Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Programs on April 14.
CMS reached out to HBMA in search of a billing company executive who could speak about their experience securing PQRI incentive payments for their physician clients. After putting out a call for volunteers, Jud signed up for the opportunity to share his “lessons learned.” Please join me in thanking Jud for agreeing to be a participant in this initiative and for representing the medical billing community (and his company) so well. It is just one more example of the important role billing companies play and that CMS recognizes that important role! I would encourage others to consider taking advantage of these opportunities in the future as it is a great way to promote medical billing companies and how your expertise and services can help physicians secure the payments they are entitled to and how you eliminate many of the administrative hassles often associated with obtaining those payments.
If you missed the event, CMS will have a transcript of the meeting and a permanent audio recording available on their website for download under “CMS sponsored calls.” User CommentsThe opinions expressed by the bloggers and those providing comments are theirs alone, and do not reflect the opinions of the Healthcare Billing and Management Association (HBMA).
